Born Mae Ruth Edmonson on February 17, 1933 in Laurel, MS. Rev. Leonard Ponder and Willie B Dixon were her beloved parents. Ruth was one of 8 children - Preston, Leonard, John, Paul, Mildred, Billie Wee, & Mittie Mae. As Ruth grew up, she was educated in Laurel and graduated from Enterprise High School. In 1950, she married Howard Ezell Edmonson, the love of her life. They were married 67 wonderful years. To this Union was born Edith Edmonson who married Luther Bostic Jr. They had one son Tyrone who married Sherita Hamilton. To the union was born Brianna, Camille, and Malcolm.
Ruth leaves to cherish her memories her Grandson Tyrone, her sister Mittie Mae Davis, three great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Noddy, as she was affectionately called, took pride in gathering the family for fun filled meals. Her love of cooking was the foundation of family gatherings. We will forever miss our long conversations and family dinners. Her love for cooking inspired a new generation of cooks. Thank You for your Love and Guidance!
