Ruth Ann Hubbard

Ruth Ann Hubbard went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 27, 2024, at her home in Florence, MS. She was 84 years old. The family will receive friends and extended family for visitation from 1:30-2:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Hickory Ridge Baptist Church in Florence. The funeral service will begin at 2:30 followed by burial at Bethesda Presbyterian in Edwards, MS.

Ruth was born on December 14, 1940, to Robert Alpheus King and Ruth Anne Blakely King in Mazanola, CO. She was raised in Napa, CA, but has lived in Florence for the past 20 years where she was a member of Hickory Ridge Baptist Church. Ruth was a pediatric oncology nurse. She loved the children she served, and they loved her. She was a devoted wife to her husband for 65 years. She was described by her family as “Having the patience of Job.” If you knew her, you loved her. Ruth was a great cook and loved to feed her family. She loved her family dearly. First and foremost, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchild. Ruth was a great woman who will truly be missed.

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, William Shelby Hubbard, Sr.; grandchildren, Jonathan Robert Hubbard, Stephen Anthony Hubbard, and Jonathan Young Hubbard, Jr.; son, William Shelby Hubbard, Jr.; and brother, Ronald King. She is survived by her sons, Young Hubbard of Florence, and Bobby Hubbard of Florence; daughter, Becky Wilhelm of Florence; brother, Shelby King of Napa, CA; sisters, Sharlynn King-Turner (Carl) of Napa, CA, and June King-Martin of VA; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
