Ruth Shorter

Ruth Sebren Shorter, 88, also know by family and friends as Bob Ruth, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012. She was a native of Rankin County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. J.C. Shorter. She was also preceded in death by 5 brothers and sisters and 1 grandson.\ She is survived by her children, Martha Miley (Larry), Brenda Dickerson (Dave) and her son, Johnny Shorter; One sister, Ruby Brinson, 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence from 7 to 9p.m., Wednesday and Thursday form 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 2 p.m. at New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Simpson County.\ We wish to thank Camellia Home Health and Hospice Care and Pine Crest Guest Home for their loving care and concern for our Mama, Ruth Shorter.\
