Sadie Mae McKinion Carithers, 90, went to be with her loving Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, October 04, 2020. Due to COVID restrictions, an outdoor graveside service and visitation will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 08, 2020 with Pastor Bryan Wilson officiating. Chancellor Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Mrs. Carithers dearly loved her church, the Southside Assembly of God and had been a Sunday school teacher, prayer warrior, and most of all, a servant of our Lord Jesus Christ. She loved to cook dishes for special occasions at the church and had the most wonderful friends there. She leaves a wonderful legacy for her children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed. She was born the youngest child of a sharecropper in Neshoba County during the Depression. God took her and her husband (youngest of 6) to many countries all over the globe in his business and used them as a testimony to what God can do when a life is given to Him. She is predeceased by her parents, Marvin V. McKinion and Mary Elizabeth “Lizzie” Hardy McKinion of Union, MS; her cherished husband of 64 years, Charles Herbert Carithers, Sr. of Raymond, MS; and six brothers, Ernest McKinion (Lillian) of Alabama, Carlie McKinion (Reba) of Mobile, AL, Elmer McKinion (Katie) of Union, MS, Bud McKinion (Helga) of Gulfport, MS, James McKinion (Betty) of Murfresboro, TN, Herman McKinion (Hazel) of Semmes, AL; and her sister, Lorena McKinion Dewease (Hulon) of Neshoba Co., MS. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia A. Carithers Williams (Tommy) of Terry, MS and her son, Charles Herbert Carithers, Jr. (Teresa) of Oxford, MS; her three grandchildren, Troy Shannon Williams of Raymond, MS, Charles Todd Williams (Danielle) of Denver, CO, and Heather Cherie’ Carithers of Raleigh, NC; many wonderful nieces and nephews, especially Herbert Rainey (Enos) of Metairie, LA and Bill Milstead of Austin, TX; and her dear sister-in-law, Betty Hall of Delhi, LA. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Southside Assembly of God at 665 Raymond Rd., Jackson, MS 39204 for outreach ministries.
