Mrs. Sadie Howard

Sadie Jane Henley Howard, 78, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be 10am until the 11am funeral service Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at Terry Cemetery. Mrs. Howard was a longtime resident of Jackson, retiring from the MS State Tax Commission as an Auditor. She enjoyed playing the piano and was of the Assembly of God faith. She loved the Lord and served him by handing out tracts and devotional books to people—even those she didn’t know. Mrs. Howard was unselfish and loved to help those in need and she was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved her family. She is preceded in death by her husband Ray Howard. Survivors include her sons, Eddie Byrd (Kaye) of Raymond, Mike Byrd (Donna) of Brandon and Ben Byrd (Norma) of Philadelphia; sisters, Gloria Gunter of Brandon and Debbie Henley of Hattiesburg; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
