Mrs. Sadie Christine “Chris” McDaniel, 80, a longtime resident of Brandon, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Merit Health Rankin in Brandon. She was born June 12, 1935 in Fannin, MS to the late Earnest Burnham Murray and Sadie Dell Burnham. Mrs. McDaniel was a retired lamp maker for General Electric. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, garage sales, and flowers and loved making flower arrangements. She was a people person who would help anybody do anything at any time. She enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. She loved her dog Sassy, “her baby”. She loved her family and her grandchildren. She was a practical joker and especially enjoyed April Fools jokes. She was preceded in death by her parents; and was the last of 7 siblings. Mrs. McDaniel is survived by her husband, Floyd L. “Mac” McDaniel of Jackson; two sons, William David McDaniel of Jackson and Ira Lewis McDaniel of Martinsville; one daughter, Linda Gayle (Bert) Case of Richland; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Chancellor Funeral Home of Florence on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Puckett Cemetery, Puckett, MS. Visitation is Thursday, 5 pm – 7 pm at the funeral home and continue Friday at 10 am until service time at 11.
