Sam Sandifer

Sam Glenn Sandifer passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at his home in Florence. He was 59 years old.  The family will receive friends for visitation from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 2, 2023, and 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2023, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Mountain Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Florence.

Sam was born on April 17, 1963, to Carthal and Dorothy Sandifer in Jackson. He loved hunting, fishing, and all things outdoors. He loved spending time with friends and family and making people laugh. Sam graduated from Florence High School in 1982. He married his High School Sweetheart, Tammy Gatlin, October 5, 1985. He worked for the Jackson Fire Department for 22 years. He truly loved his job and helping others. Sam did taxidermy work on the side and loved archery, competing in competitions, where he won a state and world championship.

Sam is preceded in death by his father: Carthal Edwin Sandifer and twins Cory and Cody Sandifer.  He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Tammy Sandifer of Florence; mother, Dot Sandifer of Florence; children, Adrienne England (Judd) of Terry, Samantha Dean (Nathan) of Florence and brother Edwin Sandifer (Betty) of Florence.
