Sammie Lou Tubby

Mrs. Sammie Tubby, 81, went to be with the lord on Friday, February 3, 2023, at her home in Byram surrounded by her family. The Family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, February 6, 2023, from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. until the 1:00 p.m. hour of service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS. Burial will follow at Lakewood South Memorial Park in Jackson, MS.

Mrs. Sammie Lou Tubby was born on July 3, 1941, to the late George Lovitt and Sammie Lucille Lovitt in Pachuta, Mississippi. She worked as a Clerical Bookkeeper for many years. She loved her family, especially her kids and Grandkids. She loved to cook anything for her family. Mrs. Sammie enjoyed doing puzzles and going shopping with her family. She really loved to play the Lottery. She had a great liking for game shows and watching tv.

Mrs. Tubby is preceded in death by her loving husband Alton Tubby, parents, siblings Claude Lovitt, Glenda Dailey, George Lovitt, daughter in law Leslie Smith. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Michele (Tony) Horton of Terry, MS, son Jeff Smith of Byram, MS, sister Gloria (Don) Cooley of Pachuta, MS, Grandchildren Justin (Katie) Vandevender of Florence, MS, Jeff Smith of Madison, MS, Alyssa (Bailey) Burge of Pearl, MS, Austin Vandevender of Terry, MS, Jonathan (Jessica) Smith of Sontag, MS, Carly (Hunter) Draughn of Brandon, MS, Hailey Horton of Richland, MS, Maddie Horton of Brandon, MS, 10 Great Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
