Sara Sansing Gilmore, 92, passed away Monday, June 15, 2020 at her home in Florence. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, June 20th from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. Funeral Service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park. Mrs. Gilmore was born December 21, 1927 in Union, MS to the late Leon and Minnie Sansing. She lived on Cleary lake in Florence since 1965 and was an active member of First Baptist Church in Florence. She helped found Grandview Baptist Church. She loved her family and was grateful for everything she had. She taught her children the value of living content, simple lives. She was very compassionate toward the elderly, she enjoyed cooking for them. She enjoyed playing Uno, Skip-Bo, and Dominoes. She was a feisty lady that had a great sense of humor. Along with her parents, Leon and Minnie Sansing, she is also preceded in death by her sister, Leta Thrash and her brother, John Sansing. She is survived by her faithful husband of 72 years, Clyde Melvin Gilmore of Florence; son, Jerry (Teresa) Gilmore of Burbank, CA; daughter, Vickie (Keith) of Florence; sister, Patsy McCraw of Sebastopol, MS; grandchildren, Lee (Rachelle) Gilmore of Burbank, CA, Bryce (Shelley) Neely of Bluffton, SC, and Kyle Neely of Florence, MS; 4 great grandchildren, Molly Gilmore, Logan Gilmore, Wyatt Neely, and Wren Neely; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
