Sarah Elizabeth Berry

Sarah Elizabeth Berry, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 17, 2018. Visitation will be 10am until the 11am funeral service all to be at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram on Monday, March 19, 2018. Interment will be at 2pm at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Hazlehurst. Mrs. Berry was born in Utica to the late Archie and Eula Chapman. “Libby” was a lifelong resident of the Jackson area and was a member of the former Westview Baptist Church. She was a 1948 graduate of Forest Hill High School. After graduating, she met her loving husband, Otis, whom she married on Christmas Eve of 1950. Libby was a fantastic cook and a wonderful homemaker. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Libby is preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Eula Chapman; her husband of 57 years, Otis Berry; 1 sibling, Sidney Chapman; her son Don Berry and son-in-law, Bill Burns. Survivors include her 4 children, Elaine (Mike) Senseman of Byram, Bill Berry of Ridgeland, Penny Burns of Kosciusko, Kathy (Robby) Burchfield of Okolona, AR, and daughter-in-law Cindy Berry of Petal; her sister Dolly (David) Martin of Richland; 8 grandchildren, many great grandchildren; several nephews and extended family; and a host of friends including 2 lifelong best friends, Madge and Evelyn.
