Schanauer Robert

Mr. Robert Louis "Bob" Schanauer, 87, passed away peacefully after a lengthy battle with cancer on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the home of his daughter in Brandon.\ Visitation will be 6-8pm Monday June 29, 2009 and 12-1pm Tuesday at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Funeral services will be 1pm Tuesday at the funeral home with entombment following at Rosemont Gardens.\ \ Mr. Schanauer was born and raised in St. Louis, MO and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married the late Ruth Newton Schanauer in 1948. Mr. Schanauer had a long career in the trucking business. In 1966 he and his family moved from St. Louis to Jackson where he managed and retired from Complete Auto Transit, a subsidiary of Ryder Systems. He was a former member of Woodville Heights Baptist Church, an avid golfer and member of Brookwood Country Club.\ \ He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, sister, Virginia Daly and brother, Harold Schanauer.\ \ He is survived by his two daughters, Susan Jones (Jim), of Brandon and Roberta Swinney (Mason) of Louisville, KY; 5 grandchildren, Dawn Lowery (Brian), Shaun Swinney, Megan Martin (Will), Sarah Reynolds (Aaron), Kris Swinney and 5 great grandchildren.\ \ Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.\
