Sharion Tucker Smith

Sharion Tucker Smith, born on October 9, 1952, in Jackson, Mississippi, passed away on February 8, 2025. She was a cherished member of her community and will be remembered for her warm spirit and unwavering faith.Sharion grew up in the Clear Branch Community, where she spent most of her life. A proud graduate of Florence High School, she carried the values and lessons of her education with her throughout her personal and professional endeavors. Sharion had a fulfilling career, retiring as a purchaser with the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce after also dedicating several years to law enforcement at the Jackson airport. Her commitment to service and her community were evident through her professional choices and actions.

A proud member of the Church of Christ, Sharion held a deep love for God and was proud to have been baptized, living her life as a believer. Her faith was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through the many roles she embraced in life.

In her leisure time, Sharion found joy in various pursuits, including her love for going on carnival cruises and spending time on the beautiful coasts. She was an avid football fan, with a particular passion for SEC football. These interests brought her great happiness and added richness to her life.

Her greatest pride and joy were her family. She is survived by her two beloved daughters, Marcie Smith Roberts and her husband Jonathan of Florence, and Vanessa Smith of Florence. As a GiGi, she delighted in the company of her two grandchildren, Tahlia and Kamille Roberts, whom she adored immensely. Sharion also leaves behind two nieces, Dana Tucker and Delisa Jones and her husband Chris, as well as her two great nieces, Darbie (Graham) and Alanna (Cam), and two great nephews, Tucker and John Luke. A true animal lover, she cherished the companionship of her three lovable fur companions: JoJo, Bella, and Kiki.

Sharion was preceded in death by her parents, Van and Sylvia Tucker, her husband of 18 years, John Smith, who passed away in 2020, and her brother, Dave Tucker who passed away in 2007.She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, not just for her kind heart and bright smile, but for the profound love she had for her family and the community. A graveside service will be held in her honor on February 10, 2025, at Clear Branch in Florence, Mississippi.
