Ms. Sharla Jo Collins

Mrs. Sharla Jo Collins passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 7 from 3:00-5:00pm at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 8 at 2:00pm at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Grenada. Mrs. Collins was born in Rienzi, MS) to Henry Bardie (HB) and Ruby Scarbrough, Sr. and was raised in the Grenada area where she graduated from Grenada High School. She later became a longtime resident of the Jackson/Byram area where she attended Byram Baptist Church. Before retirement she was a Loan Officer with a financial institution. She had a love for flowers, gardening and watching birds. Her most precious love was for the Lord and her family. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry Lee Collins, Sr.; and sister, Betty Hanks. Survivors include her sons, Henry Collins, Jr. (Paula) of Terry, MS, George Collins (Cindy) of Brandon, MS and Andy Collins (Kathy) of Denver, CO; brother, Henry “Bardie” Scarbrough, Jr. of CA; sisters, Mary Ayers of Gore Springs, MS and Jan Drennan (Jim) of FL; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
