Mr. Shaun Mikel Leonard

Shaun Mikel Leonard, 56 passed away Friday, May 1, 2020 in Brandon, MS. A private funeral service will be held at 5:00 P.M. Monday, May 4, 2020 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS. The service will be live on Chancellor Funeral Home’s Facebook page. Shaun was born on November 13, 1963 at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital and grew up in Jackson, Mississippi. He graduated from Murrah High School and joined the MS Army National Guard retiring on December 1, 2011 from active duty with 30 years of service as SFC Readiness NCO for HHC, 185th Aviation Group, Raymond Road Armory, Jackson, MS. Shaun was a veteran who served in Iraq 2003-2004 and was privileged to enjoy a second career working for the MS Emergency Management Agency in property, purchasing and fleet management. He was honored to be working alongside his esteemed colleagues in Support Services to handle the logistics of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Veronica Lynn Leonard, their children, daughter Victoria Nikole Cable (William), son Zachary Mikel Leonard (Allie), and daughter Zoey Lynn Leonard; grandchildren Delilah and Dyvynia, Carter, Oliver Mikel, and Abigail Nikole; his beloved Daddy, Tim Leonard, sister Kim Leonard of Memphis, TN, brother Todd Leonard (Melissa) and their children Jones, Jack and Emma of Southaven, MS. He was predeceased by his mother, Johnel Mary “Sam” Leonard, his maternal grandparents, John and Mae Kimbrell, and uncle, Jerry Kimbrell.
