October 23, 1932 — August 25, 2013

Shirley Love Harvill, 80, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013 at MS Baptist Hospital in Jackson, surrounded by her family. Visitation will be 10am until the 12:00 noon funeral service, Wednesday, August 28, all at Alta Woods Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park. Shirley was a graduate of Central High School and shortly after graduation began her banking career with Deposit Guaranty Bank for more than 40 years until her retirement. She was a lifelong member of Alta Woods Baptist Church where she sang in the chancel choir and with the Joy Singers. She made many long lasting friendships within the church. She was an active member of the First Baptist Ladies Luncheon on Monday, Deposit Guaranty Retired Ladies Club and the Minnet Skinner Widows Club. All who knew Shirley would all comment on her love of colorful clothes and bright jewelry, her personality was just as bright. She never met a stranger and was always ready for a celebration. Mostly Shirley enjoyed family, friends, and living on the lake. She is preceded in death by her parents Luther Woodson Love and Willed Moore Love, her husband Edward Parsons Harvill and sister Rosemary Love. Survivors include daughters Lisa Tucker and partner Lee Burke, Tammy Graves and husband Robbie, son Brad Harvill and wife Heather; grandchildren Jennifer Peusch and husband Matt, Emily McGuffee and husband Blake and great grandchild Addison Peusch. She also leaves her constant canine companion Dixie. The family wishes to thank the staff at Baptist Hospital ICU unit and Restorative Care ICU unit, Dr. Eric Evans, Dr. Maria Rappai and Dr. Murphy Martin and various associates for the care and compassion given to our mother during this very long and difficult time. Special thanks to Mothers life long friend Nancy Barkley, Tommy and Mary Tucker and Mothers niece Kathy Thaggard for all their care giving and support. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Mississippi Kidney Foundation and Alta Woods Baptist Church. On line guest book available at www.chancellorfuneralhome.com.
