Mrs. Shirley Powell Lamb

Shirley Lois Powell Lamb, 80, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016 at MS Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be 9-11am Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Wynndale Baptist Church with funeral services beginning at 11am Wednesday at the church. Interment will follow at Parkway Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Lamb was born November 29, 1935 in Duck Hill, MS, to the late James Henry Powell and Lois Caffey Powell. She loved the outdoors, enjoying gardening and her flowers. She was an outstanding seamstress, cook and furniture refinisher. In her younger years she was very athletic, playing basketball at Homes Jr. College. Mrs. Lamb was a member of Wynndale Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Adrian Lamb. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Luther “Luke” Lamb of Flowood; children, Cindy Lamb of Santa Fe, NM, Mike Lamb of Jackson, Angela Gentry (Mark) of Canton, GA, Chris Lamb (Lynn) of Jackson; sister, Wilma Denney of Dothan, AL; brother, James Powell of Duck Hill; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
