Mrs. Shirley Patton Murphree

Shirley Patton Murphree, 71, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, October 11, 2014. Visitation will be 9-11AM on Tuesday with funeral service beginning at 11:00AM at Country Woods Baptist Church in Byram, MS. Burial will be at 2:00PM in Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City, MS. Mrs. Murphree spent her life serving the Lord and the most important aspects were her church, family and work. She touched many lives through teaching Sunday school at Van Winkle Baptist Church and Country Woods Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. William Loyd and Girsel Patton and brother, William Loyd Patton, Jr. She is survived by three children, Daniel, Dennis and Derek and six step-children, Mike, Sharon, Henry, Helen, Susan and Shawn, and one sister, Jeanelle Thomas; 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
