Mr. Stanley Merritt Sykes Jr.

Stanley Merritt Sykes, Jr., 69, passed away Monday, July 22, 2019 at his home in Pearl, MS. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, July 25th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Mr. Sykes was born October 19, 1949 to Stanley and Edna Sykes in Charleston, MS. He worked as the Manager at Frito Lay before retiring. He will be remembered for the way he cared for others and how he loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed fishing and loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Sykes is preceded in death by his mother, Edna Hankins Sykes. He is survived by his wife of 6 years, Sheryl Sykes of Pearl; sons, Cameron Sykes of Madison, MS, Justin (Lindsay) Perrette of Collierville, TN, Shelby (Kayla) Sykes of Brandon, MS and Bryan Perrette of Byhalia, MS; brothers, Tommy (Debbie) Sykes of Crystal Springs, Lynn Sykes of Raymond, Steve Sykes of Raymond and Rudy (Kristy) Sykes of Madison; sisters, Pat (Rusty) Bridges of Florence and Brenda (Kent) Metz of Florence; and 3 grandchildren, Skye, Clayton, and Eli.
