Steve E. Bray

Steve E. Bray., often called “Bubba” by his family and friends, 70, died August 30, 2022, of natural causes. Steve was born, the son of Chief E.G. and Jean Bray, February 11, 1952 in Raymond, MS.  Steve graduated from Wingfield High School and Hinds Community College. After college, Steve devoted his adult life to serving the City of Jackson and its citizens on the Jackson City Fire Department. 

Steve was a devoted father and grandfather.  He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports and never missed an event.  He enjoyed spending his days with his wife and grandchildren fishing, playing and traveling.      

Steve is survived by his wife Marilyn, his son Steven E. Bray (Katy) and his daughter Blakeney Bray Wells.  His grandchildren Parker J. Bray, Peyton E. Bray, Sadie Kate Bray, and Harper Ridge Wells.  He is also survived by his mother Jean Bray and sister Janet Bray Hughes (Charles). Steve was preceded in death by his father Chief E. G. Bray, Jr.

Graveside services will be held Friday, September 9, at 2:00 p.m. at Bethesda Baptist Church, 13628 Midway Road, Terry, MS 39170.
