Mrs. Sue Gaddy Hathorn, 72, of Florence, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2009 at her home. \ Visitation will be Monday from 5-8pm at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Graveside funeral services will be 11am Tuesday at Old Crystal Springs Cemetery.\ \ Mrs. Hathorn was a native of Crystal Springs and the daughter of the late Clyde and Sittie Sykes Gaddy. She received her BA from Belhaven College and masters from Vermont College of Norwich University. She had worked at Mississippi Power and Light, the Jackson-Hinds County Youth Court, and the MS Committee for Prevention of Child Abuse. Mrs. Hathorn was also a former director of the MS Department of Human Services and Children First. She was a member of Cleary Baptist Church and a member of numerous clubs and organizations.\ \ She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gary L. Hathorn, of Florence; her son, Jerry Hall and wife Kelley, of Crystal Springs; her daughters, Jackie Hathorn of Richland and Soula Jester and husband Johnny, of Glade Water, TX, her grandson, Chandler Hall; and her sisters, Dr. Faye Spruill and Linda Hall and husband Graham, all of Crystal Springs\ \ Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Gateway Rescue Mission.\
