Susan Danette Blake, a devoted homemaker, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at the age of 59. To honor Susan's memory, visitation will take place at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS on February 19, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A graveside service will follow at Glenwood Memorial Park In Richland, MS from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, with interment immediately following.
Susan was born on November 24, 1964, to Alvin Edward Holland and Jessie May Crosby Dyson in Bogalusa, Louisiana. Susan took great joy in tending to her beautiful flowers, finding hidden treasures during thrift store shopping excursions, and embarking on memorable travels. Susan also adored going on rides in town and was a regular attendee at her local church.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Jessica Shay Young. She is survived by her beloved husband of 22 years, James Blake of Richland, MS. In addition to her immediate family, Susan is survived by her children, Brandon Young of Bogalusa, LA, Edd Blake, Jeremy Blake, and Krystal Blake; sisters Cheryl Holland, Brenda Holland, and Cindy Kennedy; and brothers Michael Holland, Shane Holland, Alvin Holland, Robert Dyson III, and Gary Dyson. Susan's nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family as she doted on eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her legacy lives on through these younger generations who will forever carry her love in their hearts.
Susan Denise Blake will forever be remembered as a dedicated homemaker, a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and a cherished friend. Her legacy of love, kindness, and joy will continue to inspire all those fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in eternal peace.
