Susan Linda Johnson, 74, ran into the arms of her Lord at 6:50am January 24, 2023, while surrounded by the love of her family. She was born March 4, 1948 in Tampa, Florida. She attended numerous schools growing up and graduated from Springwoods High School in Houston, Texas in 1966. After attending business school, she became a traffic director of an underground radio station in Houston. Once she met her husband, Michael, they toured the nation with the band, Taffy. They eventually settled in Mississippi in 1981 and raised their family. Susan was a devoted wife and mother of seven, but was considered a mother by all who knew her. She devoted her entire life to ensuring that her children were well-loved and that they had the tools they needed to be successful. She was well-known for her thoughtfulness, her generous spirit, infectious smile, and wonderful laugh. Her passions were her devout faith in God, her children, and grandchildren. She spent many of her years dedicated to one of her early loves, horses. She shared that joy with her children and grandchildren. Her early mornings often consisted of coffee and bird watching, both great loves of hers. She was loved by all who had the privilege of meeting her and will be missed dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Phil Peters, Jr. and June Laverne Peters; two of her children, Derek Johnson and Dorothy Johnson Kendrick.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 50 years, Michael B. Johnson of Florence, MS; her children, Deirdre Johnson Roy (Larkin) of Tunnel Hill, GA, David S.
