Susan J. Palmer\ Florence\ \ Susan Jennie Palmer, 72, died at her home on Wednesday, February 2, 2011. Visitation will be from 11am until the 1pm service at Lighthouse Baptist Church on Saturday, February 5, 2011. Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence is handling the arrangements.\ \ Born in Georgia, the daughter of Pete and Georgia Eldridge, Mrs. Palmer loved to fish and loved to work in her garden growing flowers, tomatoes, and strawberries. She was a great mom and loved her family.\ \ Mrs. Palmer was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Wilborn.\ She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Jerry Palmer of Florence; sons, Lloyd Terry of Florence and Ben (Angie) Eldridge of Florence; step sons, Ronnie and Glenn Palmer of Hattiesburg; daughters, Jean (John) Nixon of Florence and Frances (Melvin) Bateman of Florence; step daughter, Susan Simpson of North Carolina; brothers, Mike Eldridge of AL, Simon Eldridge of Florence, M.J. Coley of FL, and Spencer Coley of FL; Sister Katie Blackman of Belview, FL; 14 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren.\
