Mrs. Sybil Bell Simmons

Sybil Agnes Bell Simmons, 82, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at University Medical Center in Jackson surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be 9am until the 11am funeral service Friday, December 22, 2017 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at Lakewood South. Mrs. Simmons was born in Mississippi to the late Elbert and Ida Mae Bell. She was a longtime resident of Jackson, where she was a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church. Mrs. Simmons, the sweetest and kindest person you would ever meet, loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed cooking, sewing and card games. She is preceded in death by her parents and precious daughter Jennifer. Survivors include her husband, James P. Simmons of Jackson; daughter, Renee Simmons Bankston (Shane) of Terry; son, James P. “Jimmy” Simmons of Jackson; two sister-in-laws, Shira Ann Foster and Brenda Asken; four grandchildren, Camille, Caitlyn and Caroline Bankston and Jordan Simmons; nieces, nephews and extended family.
