Sylvia Tillman Garrard

Sylvia Lea Garrard passed away peacefully at home October 14, 2024, after a brief illness. She was born April 1, 1947, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Tillman. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Garrard; brother Richard Tillman, Jr.; sisters Dolores Jordan, Connie Norton and Betty Lou Evans. She leaves to rejoice in her memories two daughters, BJ Hillhouse (Stacy Hillhouse) and LaRonda Wedgeworth; four grandchildren; Zane Sullivan (Nicole), Zachary Peacock (Sandie), Kace Wedgeworth and Zoey Long; five great grandchildren, Kalee, Millie, Dawson, Nova and LaRoy.

Everyone who knew Sylvia, knew how much she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The highlight of her day was picking them up from school and spoiling them. She was also an avid gardener and loved to read. She was an amazing cook who enjoyed making new recipes for her family. She lived a long and full life, filled with love and taking care of her family. 

The family will receive friends for visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. A graveside service will follow at Harrisville Cemetery.
