Teresa Ann Lacy Hegwood was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi on December 1, 1950, to Sam Park Lacy and Annie Lois Briggs Lacy. She attended Culkin Academy in Vicksburg and finished her school years at Middlesboro High School in Middlesboro, Kentucky graduating in 1968. She was always good to let her little sister hang around and impose on her plans. She recovered nicely after falling from a two-story house window when she was seven and scaring her parents to death, especially her mom who witnessed it. She loved Mexican food, and many dogs (but mostly cats) through the years. She was family-famous (along with her Uncle Bob) for her spaghetti sauce. After moving back to Mississippi in 1969, she worked for McRaes, then Moon, Hines, and Tigrett Oil & Gas for many years. She was also active in the Desk and Derrick Club. In her 40’s, she started having significant pain with a bone disease and suffered significantly the rest of her life. Her family is very thankful that her pain is gone and that she is now able to stand and walk upright once again, now in the presence of the Lord. She leaves behind many lifelong friends and her family, brother Terry Lacy (Jan), sister Becky Pigford (Larry), ex-husband, Curtis Hegwood (who was always faithful to check on her), nieces, Crystal Gafford, Lacy Pigford Pace (Caleb), great niece Sadie Gafford, and many Lacy and Briggs cousins. We are also thankful to know she is reunited with her mother and dad, who she missed dearly.
