Theresa Butler Ingram Kersh, 49, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 28, 2014, after a long battle with cancer. The Celebration of Life Service will be at 6:30pm Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Country Woods Baptist Church with a reception to follow. Therese had lived in Jackson since 1973, graduating from Provine High School in 1983 and was a member of Country Woods Baptist Church. She gave her life over to Christ, making a public profession of faith on February 29, 2004. Therese devoted herself to learning God’s word and learning what it meant to walk with Him daily. At the beginning of 2010, she was diagnosed with kidney cancer. As she lived out God’s plan for her life, she still asked Him daily, “How can I glorify You today?” It was her hope that if even one life could be changed through the testimony of her circumstance, then it would be worth all the suffering she would endure. As we go forth and share her story we continue to carry out God’s will for her life, we further the work for his kingdom, and bring glory to Our Heavenly Father. She is preceded in death by her father Lawrence Butler. Survivors include her mother Carolyn Butler of Byram; son Justin Kersh of Byram; sisters Sharon Kitchens of Byram and Cecilia Barlow of Clinton; 4 nieces; 3 nephews and a great niece and 2 great nephews; 3 lifelong friends Sheryl Boykin, Janet Keith and Sonia Elfeki. Memorials may be made to Country Woods Benevolence Fund. On line guest book at www.chancellorfuneralhome.com.
