Thomas Leslie Kimes, known to many as "Tom," peacefully passed away on June 1 2024, in Flowood, MS. He was born on April 20, 1947. Thomas had a fulfilling career and proudly retired from the United States Army. Throughout his life, he cherished the time spent with his loved ones and had a passion for attending NASCAR races with his son and friends.
In addition to his successful career, Thomas was a devoted member of Trinity Baptist Church and found solace in his love for fishing. His warm personality and kind spirit touched the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Thomas leaves behind a legacy that will be remembered by his surviving family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy Kimes of Florence; his son, Patrick Kimes (Brandi), from Mount Juliet, TN; as well as stepchildren Dixie Criddle (Ricky Tucker) and Andy Sullivan (Mel). Thomas will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Ethan, Maddux, and Brianna Kimes, as well as step-grandchildren Brandee Harper (Jake), Justin Criddle, Ann Marie Sullivan, Jonathon, and Tyler Sullivan. He is also survived by step-great-grandchildren Trevis, Mavrick, Everrt Harper, and Dylan Criddle. He is also survived by his sibling Camille and Darryl Kimes
Thomas Leslie Kimes was preceded in death by his parents and stepson Stan Sullivan.
A visitation to honor Thomas Leslie Kimes's life will be held at Chancellor Funeral Home Florence in Mississippi on June 4, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at the same location at 1:00 PM. The interment will follow at Garden of Memories in Florence at 1:45 PM.
Thomas Leslie Kimes will forever be remembered for his dedication to his country, love for his family, and joy in making lasting memories with those who meant the most to him. May he rest in peace knowing that he touched the hearts of many during his time on this earth.
