Mr. Thomas Scott

Thomas Harrison Scott, 81, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013 at his home. Family and Friends will gather at Gunter Road Baptist Church in Florence on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 2:00 PM with a service at 3:00 PM. Mr. Scott, a native of Greenville, spent most of his life in Jackson after serving in the Air Force. He was a member of the first graduating class of Mississippi State University then went on to be a Mechanical Engineer for 25 years at MRS Manufacturing, designing Earth Moving Equipment. After retiring, he worked with his family at ALFA Insurance. Mr. Scott is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Dorothy Scott and by his step father, James H. Wilson. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dot Scott; son, Scottie (Angie) Scott; daughters, Linda (Joe) Dear and Barbara (Tim) Chennault; sister, Martha (David) Etheridge of Greenville; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. In Lieu of flowers, the family ask that you make memorials to the Animal Rescue League or your favorite charity.
