Thomas L Smith, known to many as Tom, passed away on July 31, 2024, at his home in Jackson, MS. He was born on March 4, 1954, in West Virginia, to Dacile Smith and Mary Nix Smith. 

Tom dedicated his life to music as a music teacher and pianist, finding immense joy in sharing his passion with others. Beyond his musical talents, Tom had a green thumb and cherished his garden, especially his prized red roses. He was a loving father and took great pride in working hard to provide his family.

Tom's legacy will live on through the memories he created with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his passion for music, love for gardening, and dedication to those he held dear. 

Tom survived by his three children: Steve Smith (Lisa), Eric Smith, and Frank Smith; as well as his three grandchildren: Bailey Smith, Peyton Smith, and Axton Smith. Despite no longer being together, he maintained a close relationship with the mother of his children and ex-wife, Patricia Smith.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Alan, Jeff, and David Smith.

There will be a Visitation Monday, August 5, 2024, from 11 am until 12 pm at which time the Funeral Service will begin.  There will be a brief Graveside at Glenwood Memorial Park following the service at 1pm.
