Thomas Jerry Staggs

Thomas Jerry Staggs passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023, in Hattiesburg.  He was 74 years old. The family will receive friends for visitation from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Holly Grove Cemetery in Braxton.

Mr. Staggs was born on December 11, 1948, to John Charlie Staggs and Estelle Marie Downs Staggs in Cleveland, Mississippi. Jerry served in the United States Army and was a proud Mason. He enjoyed playing pool, cards, working in the yard and cooking on the grill. He was well known for boiling crawfish back in the day. He loved his family so very much, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mr. Staggs is preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Earl Berry; and stepbrother; James Berry.  He is survived by his son; David Staggs; daughter, Jerrie Cameron (Leonard); stepson, James Thompson; stepbrother, David Berry (Linda); sisters, Ann Wynn (Ted), Debbie Different (Charles), Joyce Richardson (Danny), Donna Pabon, and Sherrie Bowker (John); grandchildren, David W. Staggs II, Savanna Creason (Josh), Brandi Cameron (Josh Bartels), Leonard S. Cameron II and Jesse C Cameron; great grandchildren, Blaze Staggs, Adaline Creason, and  Alianna Bartels; nephews, Tony Robertson and Adam Different; niece, Pam Puckett and a number of great and great great nieces and nephews.
