Mr. Thomas Vinson Stringer

June 3, 1940 — July 5, 2016

Thomas “Tommy” Vinson Stringer, Sr. (76) of Raymond, MS passed away July 5, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bobbie Nell (Bostick) Stringer. He was a loving father to 4 sons, Tommy Jr. (deceased), Chuck (Tammie) of Brandon, MS, Lee (Tamara) of Crystal springs, MS, and Scott (Jana) of Raymond, MS. He was a grandfather to eight grandchildren: Steven (Leeann), Morgan, Westin, Austin, Max, Jackson, Madeleine, and Collin and one great grandchild, Emery. He is also survived by one brother, Ross stringer and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Myrtle Stringer, and son, Tommy, Jr., as well as brothers, Fred Jr. and Johnny Stringer. He was retired owner/operator of City Furniture Company and Lott Furniture Company. He was an active Scoutmaster for many years and also loved woodworking and spending time on his farm raising cattle. He was an usher and active member of Lakeshore Congregational Methodist Church. Visitation will be 5-8pm Friday, July 8, 2016 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Services will be 1:00pm Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Lakeshore Congregational Methodist Church in Byram, with a one hour visitation prior to service time at the church. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lakeshore Congregational Methodist Church, Byram, MS.
