Thomas Weess

Thomas Verdel Weess, 62 passed away August 11, 2010 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Ms. Visitation is 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence and one hour prior to the services at First Baptist Church on Saturday. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church Florence with burial in Garden of Memories in Florence.MS. \ Mr. Weess was born January 30, 1948 in Bogalusa, LA. He was a resident of Jackson, Miss. for 41 years before moving to Florence. He was a 1966 graduate of Provine High School and Miss. State University in 1970. He served in the United States Navy for 2 years and the Naval Reserve for 4 years. \ \ He was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Fraud Examiner. Mr. Weess worked with the Miss. State Dept. of Audit for over 21 years and retired in 1995. He was an auditor with the Miss. Planning and Development District for over 13 years at the time of his death.\ \ Mr. Weess was a member of the First Baptist Church Florence. He was a devoted and loving husband. He was preceded in death by his parents: Jeffie Lee Weess and Elizabeth Verdel Weess. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Mary Berry Weess and brother Harold L. Weess (Alice) all of Florence, and Aunt Catherine Verdel Toole-Simpson of Mandeville, LA. \
