Thomas Edward French, 61, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be 9am until the 10am funeral service Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Graveside services will follow at 5pm at Crestwood Cemetery in Gadsden, AL.\ \ Mr. French was born and raised in Gadsden, AL. He was a police officer with the city of Hoover, AL for 16 years and had lived in Jackson since 1995, working with the Department of Human Services as a Food Stamp Fraud Investigator.\ \ He is preceded in death by his father Curtis Monroe French and siblings Eleanor R. Battles of Birmingham and John R. French of Gadsden, AL.\ \ Survivors include his mother Georgia French of Jackson; brother Dr. George French of Jackson and niece Michelle Smith of Ashville,NC.\
