Mr. Tom “Pop” Evans, 77, passed away Sunday November 6, 2016 at his home in Raymond. Visitation will be 4-7pm Thursday and 1-2pm Friday at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram with funeral services 2pm Friday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery. Born in Warren, Ohio and longtime resident of Raymond, Mr. Evans was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church and served overseas in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He loved raising horses and especially enjoyed trail riding. He could fix anything that was broken and enjoyed tinkering on anything mechanical, but the love of his life was his grandchildren. Mr. Evans is predeceased by his parents, Harry W. and Mildred M. Postlewaite Evans and his wives, Lizzie Lou Hopper Evans and Mary Wasson Evans. He is survived by his son, Harry Evans of Terry; his daughter, Angela Shirley (Pratt) of Raymond; 5 grandchildren, Lacy Evans, Hunter Shirley, Walker Shirley, Ryan Evans and Blake Evans; his sister Barbara Smith of Byram; sister-in-law Jean Lowery; numerous nieces and nephews and his faithful companion, his bulldog, Abby. Pallbearers will be Harry Evans, Ryan Evans, Blake Evans, Pratt Shirley, Hunter Shirley, and Walker Shirley. Honorary pallbearers will be George Thomas and David McGuffee
