After a long battle with cancer, Thomas Ross Tillotson died on November 4, 2015 in Jackson, MS at the age of 68. He leaves behind his wife, Diana Tillotson; his son, Tim Tillotson, daughter, Zan Phillips, step-son, Hunter Galofaro, step-daughter, Stacy Mangold, two sisters, Rita Collins and Ann Finley and seven grandchildren. Tom was born in Fort Wayne, IN, to Charles and Marceil Tillotson, who predeceased him along with his two brothers, Bruce and Robert Tillotson and his first wife, Carolyn Tillotson. After graduation from high school, Tom entered the U. S. Army for 6 years, including service in the Vietnam War. During this time he received various awards including the Vietnam Campaign and Service Medals. He married his first wife and lived in Jackson, MS where they raised their two children. Tom attended Hinds Community College and began his career in communications. After Carolyn’s death in 2002, Tom met and married his second wife, Diana in 2007. When Tom and Diana were introduced by a mutual friend, Tom was fishing, an activity he loved most. Anyone that knew Tom knew that he was a driven sportsman, equally enjoying fishing and hunting. Tom was also passionate about animals, especially his pups. He will be greatly missed by his furry friends, Sophie and Lucy. Tom requested to donate his body to medical science. We will celebrate his life on 11/11/15 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS. Visitation will begin at 11 am followed by a memorial service at 12 noon. Donations are requested in lieu of flowers to one of two organizations: Cara Animal Shelter or American Cancer Society Patrick F. Taylor Hope Lodge.
