Mr. Tommie Lee Stringer

Tommie Lee Stringer, 87, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at his home in Florence. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 5-8 PM and Thursday from 10 AM until the 11 AM funeral service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Mr. Stringer was a member of Quest Community Church. Known as the “Peanut Man” to people in Florence, his passion was his family. He enjoyed fishing with his grandsons and coon hunting. He was a fan of Mississippi State and Atlanta Braves, enjoyed watching wrestling and an animal lover. Mr. Stringer was preceded in death by his grandson, Dawson Lott and his brother-in-law, William Cleckler. He is survived by his wife, Vera Stringer of Florence; daughters, Nancy (Dan) Overstreet of Florence, Linda (David) Bean of Lebanon, TN, and Sandy (Todd) Brown of Florence; brother, Harold Stringer of Hattiesburg; 9 grandchildren: Angel Nye, Brian Overstreet, Jason Thrash, Jennifer Lott, Benjamin Dunaway, Justin Brown, Sheay Grant, Dustin Brown, and Kylie Brown; 9 great grandchildren: Shelby Nye, Bailey Nye, Cheyenne Dunaway, Lindsay Dunaway, Dayton Lott, Blakely Lott, Benjamin Austin Dunaway, Lana Thrash, and Cayden Lott.
