Tommie Ruth James (better known as "Tinker" to family and close childhood friends) was born in Baxterville, Mississippi on October 29, 1930 to Eugene and Ethel Saucier. She completed her race gracefully on October 16, 2010 in St Louis, MO joining her parents and siblings, Jack, Richard, Sally, Dovie, and Jerry who have gone before her in the presence of her King and Savior. Tommie made her home in Jackson, Mississippi for 60 years where she raised her two daughters, Diane Howell and Lisa Howard. She faithfully met her obligations in the workforce, first at Whitfield Hospital, followed by the Red Cross,and then as a Legal Secretary for 30 years at the law firms of Watkins and Eager and Wise, Carter, Child and Caraway. Tommie's greatest accomplishments in life were the rearing of her two daughters, putting up with her two sons-in-law and spoiling her six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
