Mr. Tommy Parkison

Mr. Tommy Parkison passed away, Saturday, January 14, 2017, at his home in Florence. Visitation will be Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Marvin United Methodist Church in Florence beginning at 3:30 with a Memorial Service following at 4:30. Mr. Parkison was a graduate of Florence High School and attended Mississippi College. He was employed by McRae’s Department Store where he opened numerous stores. At the time of his retirement he was a territory manager. He enjoyed singing in the choir at Marvin United Methodist Church, spending time in his yard and garden, and playing golf every day with his golf buddies. Tommy was predeceased by his parents, Walter “Dub” and Bessie McLain Parkison. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Bonnie Bowen Parkison; sons, Dr. Scott C. (Kelly) Parkison of Cookeville, TN; and Chad C. (Jessica) Parkison of Greenville, S.C.; daughters, Dr. Mary T. (Gary) Morris of Evansville, IN, Stephanie Parkison Teague of Vicksburg, MS, and Leigh Ann (Lerin) Taylor of Starkville, MS; sister, Sandra Frady (Ron) of Landrum, South Carolina; grandchildren, McKensie Holliman, Alec N. Murphy, McLain Teague, Dylan Starke, Wyatt Teague, Seth, Oliver, Lyla Ruth, Levi, Katy Pierce, Joel, Isaac, and Miles Parkison.
