Mr. Tony Gene Allen

Tony Gene Allen, 48, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017 at University Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be 5-8pm Wednesday, August 23, 2017 and 10am until the 11am funeral service Thursday, August 24, 2017, all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at Lakewood South. Tony was a lifelong resident of Hinds County, graduating from Byram Attendance Center in 1986. He was a master craftsman/workaholic who enjoyed his job of woodworking, owning his own business Allen Contracting. Tony was a loving father, son, brother and friend to many. He was a Christian, full of laughter, witty and loved to make others happy. Tony loved his family, considering his greatest accomplishment to be his children Megan and Mason—they were the pride and joy of his life. He is preceded in death by his best friend, his father Kenneth E. Allen, who passed away in October of last year. Survivors include his mother, Betty Jones Allen of Raymond; children, Caleb “Mason” Allen and “Megan” Elizabeth Allen, both of Long Beach, MS; brother Michael Edwards of Jackson; sisters, Christy Allen Petrosino (Carmen) of Clinton and Jackie Allen Yeager (Lon) of Raymond; many nieces, nephews, extended family and his faithful companions “Lighting” and “Cat”.
