T.R. Young

Thomas Rainer "T.R." Young, 83, passed away Monday, January 12, 2009 at the VA Medical Center in Jackson. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held for family and friends at Gallman Baptist Church Thursday, January 15, 2009 with visitation from 9am until the 10am memorial service. Interment will follow in New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Crystal Springs. Chancellor Funeral Home of Byram in charge of arrangements.\ \ Mr. Young was born October 27, 1925 in Belzoni to John R. and Ruby McCurin Young. A Veteran of WWII during the Korean Conflict, Mr. Young retired from the U.S. Navy after 21 years of service. He then moved to Copiah County where he has lived ever since and was a member of Gallman Baptist Church.\ \ He is preceded in death by his son Thomas R. Young, Jr. Survivors include his wife of 19 years Elizabeth Young of Crystal Springs; son, Kevin Verdecchia of Hazlehurst; daughters, Sheila Roberts of Ft.
