Mr. Tres Dodd III

William Sheldon Dodd, III “Tres” passed into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. He was 25 years old. The family will receive friends for visitation Friday, March 4th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. A memorial Service will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Tres was born September 25, 1996, in Flowood, MS to William Sheldon Dodd, Jr “B.J.” and Lisa Jackson Dodd. He was raised in Florence and was a member of Word of Life Church. He loved the Lord and his family. He enjoyed singing on the praise team at church. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed skateboarding, bicycling, motorcycles and camping. He considered friends an extension of his family and carefully maintained a network of friends. He was creative and loved engineering and building things. He won the “Most likely to blow up the lab” award while in school. He was a gentleman, known for his perseverance and he loved adventures. Every day was a new adventure. Tres is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Jimmie Jackson and his paternal grandfather, Billy Dodd. He is survived by his mother, Lisa Dodd of Brandon, MS; father, B.J. Dodd of Medford, OR; sisters, Brooke Dodd of Dallas, TX and Sydney Dodd of Brandon; maternal grandmother, his Nana, Brenda Jackson of Florence; paternal grandmother, his Meme, Elaine Dodd of Pearl; uncle, Mitch Jackson of Florence; aunts, Shannon Hillman of Pearl and Suzanne Edwards of Brandon; and other extended family members and many friends.
