Mr. Vayon Velier “V.V.” Shows, Jr., 76, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013 at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 25th from 12-1 PM at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. A graveside service will follow at 2pm at New Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Martinsville, MS. The memorial service will be Wednesday, June 26th at 3 PM at Trinity Baptist Church in Pearl. Mr. Shows, who spent most of his life in Pearl, was a mechanist at Stone Containers. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nelda Shows of Pearl; sons, Joey (Beverly) Shows of Raymond, Scott ( Peggy) Shows of Pearl, and Carl Shows of Pearl; brother, Ray Shows of Jackson; sisters, Gurtrude Wells of Pearl and Otrice Edwards of Pearl; grandchildren, Lynn (Jonathan) Gould, Jeremy Shows, Megan Shows, Justin Shows, Jonathan Shows, Angus Roberts; and 4 great grandchildren.
