Mrs. Vera Mae Jackson Boone

Vera Mae Jackson Boone passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at age 95 in Jackson, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Boone, a Nazarene Minister, her brothers Edwin Jackson and Wilton Jackson and her sisters Inez Smith and Ruby Rutland. She is survived by her children Frances Belle Richie and Katie Norman, her granddaughter Carol Prescott and her great grandson Quade Prescott; brothers Ray Jackson (Baton Rouge), James P. Jackson and Joseph Jackson and sister Lucille Johnson and many nieces and nephews Vera was a long time member of Emmanuel Nazarene Church where she was very active along with her husband who was the Outreach Minister. In addition to her church and homemaking activities, Vera maintained a busy work life throughout the years including seamstress and Avon representative. She also enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and gardening. Memorial donations may be made to Emmanuel Nazarene Church, 3775 Terry Rd., Jackson, MS 39272. Visitation will be at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram on Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 9am until the 11am funeral service. Rev. Artie Burnett will officiate. Interment will follow in Rosemont Gardens Memorial Park in Jackson, MS.
