She earned her Doctor of Law degree from Mississippi College and began her career as an attorney in child welfare and family law. She later served as a bank-teller at State Bank and Trust. While she deeply valued her eduction and career, her proudest accomplishment was her family.
Her love for family was unwavering; she was the world’s best Ganny to her grandaughters. She was a supporter, listener, and encourager. More importantly, she was always present for those who needed her. Her passion for people was evident through her willingness to serve and see the light in others. She would give the shirt off her back or the last dollar she had to help someone. She believed in the Golden Rule, treating others as you would want to be treated.
She is survived by her daughter, Jackie (Keith) Thompson of Florence; grandaughters, Allie Ivy and Mallory Ivy of Florence; brother, James Anderson of Bolton; and sister Bobbie Jean Knight of Byram.
