Mrs. Vera Pleasant

Vera McNerlin Pleasant, 90, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at Willow Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Byram. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 5pm until 7pm and Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 10am until 10:45am at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. A graveside service will be held at Terry Cemetery at 11am on Wednesday. Vera was born in Booneville, AR to the late Tony A. and Lottie McNerlin. She became a longtime resident of Terry, MS where she attended Bethesda Baptist Church as long as her health allowed. Vera was devoted to her family. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading and baking Christmas cookies for family and friends. She was a proud military wife and enjoyed traveling and living around the world. She is preceded in death by her husband of over 54 years, Marion G. Pleasant, Jr. and her son-in-law Marc Lucas. Survivors include her son Bill (Jenny) Pleasant of Terry; her daughters Dianne (Drew) Walker of Colorado Springs, CO and Kathy Lucas of Pearl; her brothers Gene McNerlin of AZ, Don McNerlin of CA and James Harold McNerlin of AR; as well as 7 grandchildren.
