Mr. Vernon "Denny" Dennis Peters

Vernon Dennis “Denny” Peters, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 25, 2017 surround by family after a short illness. A graveside service will be Friday, September 29th at 1:00 p.m. at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley, West Virginia. He was raised in Powellton, WV. Denny is preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Peters in December 2013 and his son, Vernon Dennis Peters II in August 2006. He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Vicki (Lowell) Poe of Florence, MS. He was extremely proud of his grandchildren, Wayne Poe, Kevin (Terra) Poe, Vernon Peters III, and Jennifer (Marshall) Tincher; and great grandchildren, Nathan Peters, Cody Peters, Ayden Peters, Marshall Tincher, Matthew Tincher, Kevin Poe, Trent Poe, Ben Marino, Allen Marino, and Daniel Marino; sister, Phyllis (Ken) King; and nieces and nephews. His devotion to the Lord, family, hard work and sense of humor will serve as an inspiration to all who knew him. He was a man of Prayer and practiced 1 Thessalonians 5:17. He loved being outside especially gardening and doing yardwork. When he couldn’t be outside, he was listening to preaching and gospel music. He will be greatly missed.
