Mr. Vernon Eugene Minton

Mr. Vernon Eugene Minton, 61, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2019 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Florence. The family will hold a memorial service on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at 1:00 at College Drive Seventh Day Adventist Church in Pearl, MS 39208. Mr. Minton was born August 25, 1958 to Robert E. and Dorothy J. Minton. He was a long-time resident of the Florence Area and he worked as a machinist with Siemens until his disability. He was a "Jack of ALL trades" and there was nothing he could not do. Vernon was a family man who loved and took care of his wife. He loved the Lord and would talk about Him with anyone. He loved music of all kinds and loved to play the guitar. He even made it to Nashville where he wrote and recorded a country music CD and even played at the Grand Ole Opry, which he was extremely proud of. Vernon is survived by his wife of almost 22 years, Cindy Minton; stepdaughter, Jesse (Will) Welch of Mendenhall and their children, Summer, James A., Ava Welch ; stepsons, James D. Brewer and Justin Brewer; grandchildren, Jaxson Brewer and Rebaka Brewer; sister, Janice (Burnell) Burch of Magee; brothers-in-law, James E. (Joyce) Barrett and Jeff (Terri) Barrett; nephews, Bradley Barrett, Mitchell Barrett, Greg Yelverton and niece, Jasmine Barrett.
