Mrs. Viola Louise Pitts, 91, went to be with her dear Saviour (It's Shouting Time in Heaven) on March 28, 2010 at her home. Visitation was at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. prior to the services at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment and graveside services followed at 2 p.m. at Parkway Cemetery, Kosciusko, MS. \ \ Viola Pitts was born in Holmes County, MS to Elmo Whitten Ellington and Matha Elizabeth Odom Ellington. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Walter Thornwell Pitts.\ \ She is survived by her sons: Jasper Sonny Pitts (Marie) of Flora, MS, bobby Ray Pitts (Vesta) of Shell Knob, MO, Willard Malcolm Pitts (Laurie) of Florence, MS, Walter Gerald Pitts (Alice of Kiln, MS; and daughter, Faye Bruce (John); sister, Elaine Youngbood of Kosciusko, MS; brother, John Martin of Kosciusko, MS; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.\ \ Viola loved reading, gardening, canning vegetables, quilting, cooking for her large family and attending church. She was a member of The Church of God of Prophecy for 50 years. She was a member at the church in Pearl, MS. She retired from St. Dominic Hospital and Wal Mart in Pearl, MS.\ \ The family wishes to thank Dr. Michael Albert and staff and Sta-Home Hospice and staff.
