Mr. Virgil Richard Posey Sr.

Virgil Richard “Buzz” Posey, 80, of Terry, MS passed away August 19, 2016. Visitation will be 4-6pm Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS. Graveside service will be 11:00am Monday, August 22, 2016 at Lakewood Memorial Park. He attended Terry High School where he earned the title of “Mr. Terry High” and was very active in sports activities. He was a retired project manager for TL James Construction of Ruston, LA and served 17 years with the National Guard. Mr. Posey was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he enjoyed watching westerns and the sports channel. His hobbies included farming and raising cattle. He loved every member of his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clinton Dennis Posey and Nettie Mae White Posey; a brother, Roy; sisters, Patsy and Bessie; son-in-law, Ricky Bailey; and daughter-in-law, Vicki. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Flora Alexander Posey; son, Richard Posey of Terry; daughters, Cheryl Posey (Dean) Taggart of Birmingham, AL and Jackie Posey Bailey of Byram; grandchildren, Matt (Elisha) Bailey, Shellie (Patrick) Carr, Jacob, Josh and Claire Taggart; great grandchildren; Ellen, Mary Alex and Thomas; sister, Ann James of Terry; brother-in-law, Tommy; and several nieces and nephews.
